I have talked to our = network engineers and they are trying to find a = solution.
I would like to ask = you to tell your team  to do a speed test here: http://speedtest.dditservices.com . = Do  a speed test to Los Angeles and another one to Luxembourg, = afterwards provide us the reference number so that we can check how = these went. Our plan is to set up a server here in Luxembourg from where = you can download these things faster, instead of having a you download = it always from the U.S servers
 
We will leave the HDD = arrangement for when we have numerous files (as you have advised), but = when that becomes an option I will can take it to Olivier myself and he = can sort out the rest.

For now we can continue = the download of the files by ftp but we have to increase the speed of = the network significantly. 
The problem with the HDD is the "distance" (come and = pick it, go to playout center, ...), not so = easy.

But please consider that each show has 4 parts (4 = files) and are accompanied by 20 video clips (20 files). Do you consider = this too many files for downloading? For me it's okay to deliver these = physically.
 
Prod team = are done fixing 106 ACT_1, I'll move it over to you for = download. 
How long do you think it will take to complete the = downloads of 105 and the other parts of = 106?

Initially, we used an HDD to initialize the on air of the = channel but this solution is appropriate when we have a lot of files to = recover. We'll use it for example if you have several Episodes ready in = advance.

I will check the FTP settings with our system = administrators as they were the ones who set it up.
For the future, do you think it would be better if I = take an HDD with the all the files in it to Olivier? This way I can pick = up the empty hard drive the next to prepare for the next episode. Sounds = a bit old-school but could be the ultimate solution instead of putting = you through this rigorous download process.
 
Sorry about the naming issue with that 1 file, that = was the last one to be added (had to be re-edited) so I guess the name = (because of the date) was changed before I got it back after editing. = Can you please confirm that you made the change (I see it  has been = changed).

Yes, the network is abnormally slow and the = files take significantly longer to download.
And this = would appear to result from the ftp setup (an indication of this, even = if we download several files in the same time, the speed remains the = same). Please could you check if it is the case?
 
Other issue : the name of the file in the = server is 16-02-17_EvaTalks_1-41_TV_CV_I_H_DC_BS_JJ.mov and = not 16-02-15_EvaTalks_1-41_TV_CV_I_H_DC_BS_JJ.mov. Please could you modify the name = again?

Our prod team just informed = me there was probably a transfer issue with the file. For me it opened = in the morning and I could watch it with no problems.
They are uploading a new one now = anyways.
 
Concerning your question about network restriction, = are you asking because of how slow it is for you to download the files? = I don=92t know if it is restricted or not, but I will find out first = thing tomorrow morning and let you know.
